2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information — Basic device identifiers and operating system details required for the App to function.
  • Usage data — App open counts (used to determine when to show the tutorial).

2.3 Google Authentication

The App uses Google Sign-In for authentication to enable cross-device saving and synchronization of your recipes and meals. When you authenticate:

  • We receive a Google user ID (a unique, anonymized identifier) and your Google account email address.
  • We do not access, store, or transmit your Google password, contacts, photos, or any other data from your Google account.
  • Your Google credentials are used solely to associate your App data with your account.

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the App's core features (GI/GL computation, recipe management, meal planning).
  • Save and retrieve your recipes, meals, favorites, and preferences.
  • Authenticate your identity via Google Sign-In to enable account-linked data storage.

4. Data Storage

4.1 Local Storage

All recipes, meals, ingredients, favorites, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Hive (a local, encrypted database). We do not automatically upload or sync this data to any external server.

4.2 Cloud Storage

If you authenticate with Google, your recipes and meals may be stored in our cloud infrastructure (hosted on Supabase) to enable access across devices. This data is:

  • Linked only to your anonymized Google user ID.
  • Encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
  • Not shared with or sold to any third party.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties.

We may disclose your data only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers — Trusted third-party services that host our cloud infrastructure (Supabase) or handle authentication (Google). These providers process your data only as necessary to perform their services and are bound by confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal requirements — If required by law, regulation, or legal process.
  • Protection of rights — To protect the rights, property, or safety of Glycify, its users, or others.
